Stand up to the challenge?

A little over a year ago, cousin Julienne and I had the opportunity to "perform" in an almost empty house at the Seattle Comedy Underground under Swannie's bar in Seattle. Following this debacle, we declared that we were "funnier than that" and that everyone should always have a routine ready if the opportunity ever presented itself again. Well, Julienne presented the opportunity again all right, by arranging the first annual Wood Family at the Comedy Underground stand up comedy fest this past week. WOW.

Some routines were excellent examples of classy humor performed in a professional manner...

... while others, well, weren't.

(you can always click on the pictures to zoom)

Everyone though was pretty darn funny, I must say.

Thank you Julienne!
Let's do it again next year.

You can see a few more pictures of the evening by clicking here... if you so desire.

A Holiday Poppy Visit

Poppy, a.k.a. Grandpa Malcolm, spent a few days with the Montlake Woods this past holiday season. He got in some great family fun with the kids...

... and even may have a new favorite. OK, well at least a favorite Grand Dog. I think our sending him out on walks with Barkley in our typical Seattle December was to blame for the cold he brought back to SF with him.

Thanks for coming Mal!

Cousin Brooke!

Cousin Brooke visited from Colorado Springs this past week for GranLloyd's birthday party and to get some cousin play'n in.

Brooke played tackle football with Connor.

and was basically inseperable from Charlotte when they had the chance to hang.

STICKER FUN WITH GRANDPA!

Cousin Connor!

We loved having Connor and Sammy visit last weekend!

We learned a few tricks to help us out.

Ryan had a blast playing with his best cousin buddy.

Sammy as always was a pleasure to have over as well, and Barkley loved hanging with her mom.

Charlotte loved playing with her cousins too!

AHH! DOGS AND KIDS EVERYWHERE!
Here is some video of Ryan and Connor messing around this weekend. I think these two are going to get into their fare share of trouble over the years...

Happy Thanksgiving

Connor, Nate, and Mela invited a lot of turkeys over this year for some good family fun.

The dogs and people alike had some great family bonding...

... and we ate like kings and queens (and princesses)!
Even the kids seemed to have an OK time!

Snow!

For a few hours last week, we had a few inches of snow dump on us...

Ryan sat at the window and watched and watched...

Charlotte and dad ran out and braved the storm for a little while,

while Barkley LOVED running around in it.

Nana Visit

We had a wonderful visit from Nana (who's nickname per Charlotte is "Grandma Mary") this past week. We endured the fall chill on a few walks...

... and she was so entertaining to Charlotte, that we just might have to hire her out for her next birthday party.
(You can see a few more pictures of Charlotte's new princess costume from Uncle Dan and Aunt Natara, nicknamed "Aunt Chetara", HERE if you so desire)

Nana even chipped in by doing some laundry for us. Thanks Nana!

GO BEARS!

In Seattle we met, in the pouring rain
where we gathered to prepare for the big Cal game.

Thankfully the tailgate was BEFORE the game had begun, and we managed to get in a just litte fun.

Charlotte and Ryan were the best dressed of the group, and didn't seem to mind that the Bears played like poop.
You can check out some more pictures from the day by clicking here, if you so desire.

Thanks for coming everyone, we'll run it back in 2009 when we'll hopefully be able to watch some decent football.

Happy 16th birthday Clipster!

Charlotte A.K.A. "The Clipster," turned three years old this past weekend! She claims she turned 16 ("the same age as Ariel") but in fact that is still 13 years away.

Charlotte invited over a few friends on the day, blew out candles, ate cake, danced with streamers, played in the kitchen, opened presents, and gave hugs. A wonderful third birthday.

(You can see the collage in zoom below if you click on it.)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHARLOTTE!!!!
