Beach Wood

OK, these posts are not really chronological... but we did have a GREAT time up at the Whidbey Island Beach Cabin last month. It was Grandpa Dick's birthday, and the traditional "opening of the cabin in the rain."

The rain didn't stop us from cooking of some awesome paella though:

Aunt Nancy had Charlotte ROLLING while talking to Ryan:

Aunt Nancy: Ryan, is your sister's name, "SUSAN?"

Charlotte: NO! It's CHARLOTTE! [laughs histerically]

AN: Oh I know Ryan, your sister's name is "Annie"!

C: NO! It's CHARLOTTE! [laughs histerically]

After all that laughing, Charlotte and Green Bear had to take a break for some vanilla milk

while Ryan had some good bonding with his grand aunt Francie.

Happy Toes

Charlotte and her mom just partook in one of the most sacred of rituals for a young girl... they painted Charlotte's TOES for the first time!

Mom even blew the paint dry.

Oh, and they went with purple at Charlotte's request.

Easter is HERE

We met Peter Dahlin and his folks at the Woodland Park Zoo for our first of three Easter Weekend Easter Egg Hunts. It was CROWDED and CRAZY, but Charlotte had a very fun time doing the arts and crafts, even if she was a little overwhelmed with the chaotic hunt for plastic eggs in the toddler corral.

Ryan preferred to celebrate Easter back home where it was a little less crazy.

Nana and Charlotte Paint the Town

Nana came to visit last weekend and had a great time seeing her grandkids. Charlotte showed off one of her favorite places in Seattle, the Aquarium, where she LOVES the sea otters, fish, and getting her face painted (which she takes very seriously).

After the aquarium, Charlotte, Kara, and Nana had a great lunch out at Pike Place Market. Here the ladies are showing off their bunny ears! (because that BETTER not be some USC mind washing @#$& going on...)

We are rolling for Easter!

Charlotte is getting very excited for Easter this weekend! Bunnies now occupy almost every waking thought of our little 2.5 year old. She has had lots of fun practing her egg hunts with her mommy. Click here to see the video! She also had a super fun Easter #1 last weekend with Grandma Ya-Ya and Papa Mike, complete with an egg hunt and other fun surprises!

Our little bunny has TWO Easter egg hunts planned for this Saturday, followed by an Easter dinner at Grandpa Dick and Grandma Cathy's house on Sunday. She practiced her bunny hops with neighbors Charlie and Molly this afternoon, so she should be all set.

Our little Ryan is doing really well these days. He is eating solid foods like pears (his favorite), sleeping very well, and just today he showed us that he can ROLL OVER! Click here to see the footage!
