Kelsey Creek Park

This past Memorial day, Nate and I took the kids over to Kelsey Creek Park. Have you been there? It's a pretty pristine farm, playground, and park, totally open to the public, hidden in Bellevue. I highly reccommend checking it out, if you're into this sort of thing.

They have pigs, horses, bunnies, sheep, goats, chickens, and... and... TRACTORS.

Ryan pointed at the Tractor / Front Loader and immediately said
"LOADER! BUY IT!"

All of the kids had a great time at the playground. Of course Charlotte located a girl to see-saw with.

WEEEEEEE!

Memorial Day Weekend at the beach

We took advantage of the nice weather on Saturday, and headed up to Whidbey Island for a day of beach fun. Charlotte and Ryan both started the day with very different beach styles, as you can see. Ryan is never very far away from a bucket of water these days (if he can help it) and is always digging. Charlotte on the other hand...

Going beach combing, or shopping?

Ahh, beach combing.

HI!

Lunch time!

Barkley slept for two days after her day of running with the beach dogs.

Charlotte relaxes after several hours of playing with her new "Whidbey Island Friends"
(see below for more details!)

Whidbey Island Friends

Charlotte met a crew of little girls on the beach this past Saturday, and had a BLAST. They found a Christmas tree on the beach, decorated it, and sang carols.

They rode logs

They made mermaid tails in the sand, and had a Mermaid Parade!

oh, and don't forget the ice cream from the nice dad.

Charlotte changed her beach style by the end of the day... no more shopping bags!

Bins of fun

With temps in the high 80's this past weekend, Ryan decided to spend as much time as possible in a storage bin filled with water in our back yard. Not a bad idea actually.

Connor was there to help shovel.

The CLASSIC play house window shot of our cute cousin Connor.

Charlotte would dip in occasionally too.

CHUCK E CHEESE B-DAY!

Charlotte was VERY excited to be invited to cousin Patrick's SIXTH birthday party at the famous Chuck E Cheese's. She was a little overwhelmed, but did join the big kids in singing happy birthday with a giant mouse named Chuck (not pictured).

She was literally climbing the walls

She even played her very first video game!
(dad got to help with the gas pedal)

Has spring finally sprung?

At the first sign of spring, the kids headed outside.

Charlotte checked out the garden...

... while Ryan made sure everthing was well watered.
