Dad holding down the fort

Kara is in Palo Alto for work and Woody has the kids on their best behavior. Ryan has made great strides with sleeping. He has made it clear he no longer wants to eat at night but he still wakes about twice a night and needs some soothing. Not too bad for a little guy who sleeps from 6:30p to 7a!

The language of Home

Charlotte loves to type numbers and letters on our laptops. She is a very quick study. As you probably know, Charlotte attends a Mandarin language class every Monday. Today, I handed her a cup of water and she said "thank you mommy" and I said "you're welcome, can you say thank you in Mandarin?" and she replied "no, in Home." I love that she thinks of English as Home Language and Mandarin as School Language.

The Weekend

The Wood Family had a fun weekend. Saturday's highlight was a delicious and nutricious* brunch at Bennett's on Mercer Island with Gampa and Gamma. Kara and Charlotte explored Pike Place Market on Sunday morning and Matt and Ryan strolled around Magnuson Park. Charlotte has two new favorite phrases; "for reals" and "totally totally" as in "I'm totally totally done with dinner." Ryan is having a great time expending his boy energy with the Exersaucer (video).

* Tomatoes, horseradish, dill and rye (of sorts) is nutricious, right?
