Happy Birthday Cousin Tad!

We gathered with the Oyler, Silvey, and MI Wood clans to celebrate Tad's big quarter century mark. Even Julienne made it all the way from SF!

The kids and adults had a great time...

... and these kids and mom had a ton of fun too.

DB grilled up a feast, and we all ate like a bunch of Van Looneys at an all-you-can-eat pig roast.

No birthday party would be complete, without a little cake and ice cream.

FOLLOW THAT CAT! (before it's too late!)

A nice long weekend on Double Island

This past weekend we woke up early on Saturday morning, jumped in the car in our PJ's, and drove up to Double Island.

We had lots of fun hanging out in the lodge while the rain passed. In this picture you see Ryan sizing up the steel drum, while Charlotte considers what color to paint Barkley's toenails and Kara reads Dr. Seuss.

DRUM AND DANCE PARTY!

All of that fun lead to some very sleepy kids who napped liked champions.
Ryan's favorite part of the weekend though was probably the...
(see below)

TRUCKS!

Ryan was VERY pleased to see that there was some work being done on the island... and someone left a tractor there, just the right size for a little boy.

Yes, he examined every part of the tractor and then discovered the BACKHOE too! Little truck loving boy heaven.
(feel free to click the truck pictures above to get a closer look at them)

Doni had fun with the kids (and Barkley) while Kara and Matt worked on Monday and Tuesday.

Here comes the son!

Fun in the chilly sun

It was about 50 degrees out, just warm enough to play outside when Grandma Lee (Ya-ya) came over for a play visit.

Ryan's favorite things these days are trucks (backhoes, dump trucks, tractors, etc), puppies, bunnies, the moon, and the space needle ("Needle!").

Oh, and dirt. DIGGING in the dirt is the best.

Charlotte skips by as Ryan looks on from his little house. Charlotte's favorite things these days are princesses, mermaids, Dora, and preschool.
